Popular Menu Items

Saltgrass Steakhouse celebrates all things Texas. The building evokes a ranch feel and the walls are covered in memorabilia on cowboys, ranch hands, and Texas nostalgia.

Saltgrass has a lunch and dinner menu, with different options depending on when you eat. The lunch menu is served Monday through Friday from opening until 4pm. The dinner menu is available at all other times.

While you have plenty choices for appetizers and other entrees, the first thing you’ll want to look at is their steak options. Whether you’re eating lunch or dinner, you can always get a juicy steak cooked to your liking when you’re at Saltgrass. They offer many different cuts of choice beef, from six-ounce portions to monster 22 ounce slabs of grilled meat.

But, like any great restaurant, you can get so much more. Saltgrass also has pork chops, chicken dishes, seafood options, ribs, and salads. There is enough variety on the Saltgrass menu to keep you coming back for more.

If you need a little help deciding on what to order, here are a few mouth-watering options.

Steak

Let’s quit messing around and cut to the chase: there’s a good chance you’re going to Saltgrass for the steak, so stop kidding yourself. If you’re truly hungry, the 22-ounce Silver Star Porterhouse will give you enough food to stop any hunger in its tracks. They also offer a 12-ounce New York Strip, Ribeye in two different sizes, and even Sirloin in eight- and 10-ounce cuts. Each steak is cooked to your liking and served with a side and a salad. Do it.

Range Rattlers

Maybe you’re not ready to dive right in; that’s okay, take your time. You can try an order of Saltgrass’ Range Rattlers as an appetizer. The Rattlers are fried jumbo jalapeno peppers, shrimp, and jack cheese, served with cilantro and ranch for dipping.

Brisket Burger

When done right, brisket is one of the tastiest cuts of beef there is. Saltgrass does it right for this burger. You get a half-pound beef patty, topped with gouda cheese, shredded braised brisket in BBQ sauce, lettuce, tomato, and pickles.

Saltgrass Steakhouse History

In the 1800s, when northern Texas ranchers needed to feed their Longhorn cattle during the winter, they would drive them down to the coast to feed on the rich salt grass that grew there. Then, when it was time to take the cattle to market, they followed the Salt Grass Trail.

The first Saltgrass opened in 1991 along this old trail in Houston, Texas. Today, there are locations from Texas to Colorado to Florida, all celebrating the classic Texan food: steak!
