Popular Menu Items

Penn Station offers a large variety of subs to choose from, including vegetarian options. They also offer five different sizes of subs, which is pretty unique in the sub industry. You can get 4”, 6”, 8”, 10”, and 12” subs to fit your appetite, no matter how big or small it may be.

Penn Station also has a couple of sides that you can pair with your meal for a combo such as French fries, cheese bread and chips. They serve fountain drinks, iced tea, and fresh-squeezed lemonade to wash it all down with. Some locations will offer salads and wraps as well.

If you’re going to visit a Penn Station near you, here are a few items that you may want to try:

Philadelphia Cheesesteak

This is THE classic East Coast sub. Penn Station uses 100% USDA Choice steak, fresh mushrooms, banana peppers, spicy mustard, mayonnaise, and pizza sauce to create a filling, mouth-watering sub.

The Ruben

New York City delis might have made the ruben famous, but Penn Station does it just as well as anyone. This sub on a hearth-baked roll is filled with slow roasted corned beef, sauerkraut, and swiss cheese.

The Dagwood

This sandwich is named after Dagwood Bumstead, a character in the newspaper comic Blondie: he liked to pile meats, cheeses, and anything else he could find in the fridge onto his sandwich. This is your chance to do the same. You can choose from five different meats, three cheeses, and 12 toppings and dressings to complete a do-it-yourself creation.

Club Sub

Penn Station also offers cold subs and you can’t go wrong with the Club. This one includes oven-roasted turkey, thick-cut smoked bacon, swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, honey mustard, and mayo.

Penn Station’s History

After opening Jeffrey’s Delicatessen in Dayton, Ohio in 1983, Jeff Osterfeld visited the delis on the streets of Philadelphia and was inspired to open the first Penn Station restaurant in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1985. In 1988, he embraced the “display cooking” idea (where meals are prepared in front of customers rather than in a kitchen).

Penn Station has won several awards for quality and entrepreneurship, including be ranked in Entrepreneur Magazine’s Top 500 International Franchises.
