Popular Menu Items

Fun appetizers are a staple of any great meal and Chuy’s doesn’t disappoint with their many classic Tex-Mex starters. They offer nachos piled high with refried beans, cheese, and veggies; chips and homemade chili con queso, which you can add steak to for a hearty appetizer; and quesadillas that come with chicken, beef, or sirloin.

Once your appetite is primed, you can move on to some of Chuy’s famous entrees, like a “Big as Yo’ Face” burrito that is stuffed with your choice of ingredients and sauces, or a classic plate of soft or hard shelled tacos. There are also many “house specialties” that celebrate great Tex-Mex flavor.

Chuy’s also has lighter fare, such as soups and salads. Their Tortilla Soup has a chicken broth base and is filled with hand-pulled chicken, veggies, and crunchy tortilla chips. You can try an authentic Taco salad or a Mexi-Cobb salad for something a little different.

One way to spice up any dish you get is to try one of Chuy’s many homemade sauces. From mild to spicy, Chuy’s has Ranchero, Tomatillo, Tex-Mex, Boob-Boom, and Chile sauces that can make any entree complete.

Here are some Chuy’s favorites.

Appetizer Plate

When you can’t think of what to start off with, you can’t go wrong with an appetizer sampler. At Chuy’s you can get chili con queso, Nachos, quesadillas, and chicken flautas — a kind of rolled up, crispy taco — to share or to eat as a meal.

Big as Yo Face Burrito

One of Chuy’s most famous dishes, the “Big as Yo Face” burrito is a 12-inch tortilla that is filled to bursting with refried beans, cheese and a choice of ground sirloin, oven roasted chicken, or fajita chicken or beef. If that wasn’t enough, you also get a heaping portion of Mexican or green-chili rice.

Baja Tacos

Seafood tacos have become popular over the years and Chuy’s Baja Tacos celebrate that fact. A choice of fish or shrimp (fried or grilled) in a flour tortilla is topped with cilantro, cabbage, and a creamy jalapeño sauce. You can also choose rice or refried beans as a side.

Chuy’s History

Chuy’s opened in April, 1982 when founders Mike Young and John Zapp found an abandoned barbecue joint in Austin, Texas. They envisioned a “fun and funky” restaurant that specialized in Tex-Mex flavors.

The restaurant has since expanded, mostly in Texas and the southeast but has always stayed true to serving authentic and fresh food in an eclectic atmosphere unlike any other!
